Bushmere Estate Montepulciano 2021, Gisborne

Core hues of purples and magenta with a pink and ruby rim lead to a bouquet of ripeness and fruit intensity. Flavours of boysenberry and tart plums, fresh blackberry and milk chocolate. There’s some floral tones and clay earth flavours encased in a firm structure of tannin and acidity. Tannins have a soft through course silk polish, acidity is in abundance carrying flavours and salivation reaction. A well made wine that is still settling in and needs time to develop and soften. Best drinking from 2026 through 2034+. In the meantime, decant for service and service with rare meats or dishes that contain a lot of cream in the sauce.
