Nga Waka Pinot Noir 2020, Martinborough

A vibrant, varietal and enticing bouquet of dark red berry fruits and cherry, there’s plenty of barrel spice layers with vanilla and toasty qualities. A brown soil and stony mineral layers delivers depth and adds to the complexity already evident. Youthful, taut and dry on the palate with dark cherry, spices, dried herb and barrel flavours. An abundance of tannins with a mix of chalky through coarse-silk textures, acidity carries and delivers the fruit and baking spice flavours throughout the palate. An excellent example with length and complexity, along with best drinking from 2024 through 2030+.
