Te Kairanga John Martin Pinot Noir 2021, Martinborough

An excellent bouquet of ripe red berry fruits, crumbled clay soils and a mix of baking spices, nut and mild toasty barrel qualities. Complex and new. Delicious on the palate, varietal and fruity, there’s layers of savoury dried spices and moments of hay, sweet barrel spices and dried herb qualities. Plush and fruity with flavours of dark strawberry and dried cherry, roses and boysenberry, sweet oak and baking spice. Ripe tannins are seamless on the palate alongside the acid line and core fruit flavours. A lovely example, well made and lengthy. Best drinking from late 2024 through 2030.
