Tony Bish Heartwood Chardonnay 2020, Hawkes Bay

From a stellar vintage brings a bouquet of complexity and core of pure fruit, layers of wood spice and mineral, citrus and yellow orchard fruits, sophisticated yet still quite youthful. On the palate - a silky texture gives way to flavours of citrus, apple and yellow orchard fruits of peach and apricot then wood spices of oak, baking spice and tension of fine wood tannins. Plenty of acidity keeps the palate fresh leading to a detailed, youthful and lengthy finish. A lovely wine, well made , enjoyable today, but even better from 2022 through 2026.
