Waiparore Single Vineyard Pinot Gris Dessert Strohwein 2021, Tutukaka Coast, Northland

Aromas of apricot and tangerine peel, flowers and fruit pie, some baked goods and a unique strohwein scent that reminds me of quince paste and peach preserve. On the palate - a thicker creamier texture, noticeably sweet and syrupy, bursting with flavours that reflect the bouquet and contrasting acid line. Lengthy finish and quite powerful this wine is best suited to hot and spicy eastern style soups or warm dessert such as date and ginger pudding with a citrus zest in the sauce. Best drinking from day of purchase and through 2030+.
