Maude Poison Creek Pinot Noir 2016, Central Otago
Wow! Plush, fruity, very seductive bouquet with aromas of black rose and dark cherry, wild raspberry and dried thyme, black tea with a hint of bergamot then brown spices of nutmeg then cedar. Complex, enticing, youthful. On the palate - satin textures, medium+ acidity, warming alcohol and a core of red berry fruit flavours. Other flavours of dried herb and tea then wood spices and velvet rose. Medium+ Tannins and acidity adding texture and length, complexity and a firm finish. This is a young wine still and will benefit from more cellar time. Best drinking from late 2021 through 2028+.
