The Landing Syrah 2015, Bay of Islands

The Landing Syrah15.jpg

I last tasted this wine for review in June 2018 - You can find my notes on this wine through a search on Google or similar.

Aromas of dark red fruits and baking spices of oak along with bottle integration complexity. The bouquet offers harmony and a readiness to imbibe. Flavours of the nose and palate include - baked raspberry then black currant, clove then vanilla, roasted meats and baked ‘shrooms. The tannins show integration through the palate with textures of fine sand-paper and chalk. Acidity remains the backbone accentuating a lengthy finish and a well made wine. Medium+ weight, varietal and peppery with a core of fruit, balanced and well made. Ready. Best drinking is still from today though revised from end of 2024 to the beginning.
