The Landing Chardonnay 2018, Bay of Islands

The Landing Ch18.jpg

There’s no mistaking the nutty, yellow stone fruits and baking spices of oak familiarity of this wine. Aromas of buttered brazil nut and baked peach, vanilla, raw sugar, a whisper of caramel and ripe apple. The toastiness from the oak will appeal to Chardonnay fans as well. On the palate - a nice complexity without being overt in any one attribute - flavours of vanilla and toasty wood, yellow orchard fruits and baked apple, the caramel note on the nose is a little louder and easily contrasted by the acidity and bite of new wood. Balanced and well made, ready to enjoy from today and through 2022.
