The Landing Malbec 2019, Bay of Islands

A rare single variety bottling from The Landing under the talented hands (and feet) of winemaker Ben Byrne. The only way to get a bottle of Malbec from this producer is to email the sales team directly and put your name down for a 2021 or 2022 bottling.

Aromas and flavours of wild black cherries and dark chocolate, dried herb, clove and toasty wood then black rose. An intense and richly flavoured palate with flavours of a high cacao count chocolate, a whisper of coffee bean and dark berries (reminds me of apple and blackberry pie with a dark brown pastry base). Medium acidity and tannins, lengthy finish and well made. A delicious wine.
