Neck of the Woods Orange Pinot Gris 2019, Central Otago

Neck.jpg

A captivating bouquet presented first visually with a rose gold and orange hued appearance then aromatically with spices and dried herbs then roasted apricots and saffron and with a red apple note. On the palate - firm textures, youthful attack, a mix of flavours from cold English tea to stone fruits then spices. There’s fine fruit tannins here - quite youthful adding texture and length on the palate. There’s an aroma and flavour that reminds me of an old fashioned cocktail - I’ll leave your imagination to the rest when you try this wine. Highly recommended, something different, very appealing with a decent length.
