Amisfield Pinot Noir 2015, Central Otago
Library tasting
True ruby and raspberry hue core of colours with a noticeable and youthful pink rim. The bouquet is fresh and lively, fruity and primary, exuberant with aromas of fresh red berries, new oak, but not too much, fresh vanilla. Overall complex and interesting. On the palate - flavours of fresh red berries, cherry and raspberry, chalky tannins, medium+ acidity and loads of pinosity. While I find the palate is overall a touch simple, the wine is balanced, fresh, youthful and well made, persistent with a dry finish. This vintage is currently on many winelists and in some high-end liquor stores - so a good opportunity to try a glass or bottle without disturbing your stocks. Best drinking is from today and through 2025.
What a great opportunity - thank you Amisfield
