Amisfield Pinot Noir 2009, Central Otago
Library tasting
Excellent colour with a core of ruby, persistent with a little oranging at the rim beginning to show. The bouquet is immediately complex and engaging with a savoury attack of dried herb and thyme then raspberry, red berries, plum and spice. Moderately oaky with darker barrel spices of vanilla and clove. On the palate - flavours of fruit and dried herbs reflect the nose and a seam of savoury spice runs throughout the tasting. Dry finish with a mix of chalk and talcum textured tannins, medium acidity, noticeable oak, but not overdone. Balanced with medium length and medium+ complexity. Well made and now ready - no need to cellar any longer if you have some.
What a great opportunity - thank you Amisfield
