Amisfield Pinot Noir 2008, Central Otago
Library tasting
Red core with ruby hues and some orange tones at the rim. Just a little bit simpler on the nose with less complexity than I was expecting - that said the bouquet shows a youthful varietal freshness with red fruits, some plum and raspberry, it’s also quite pretty with a floral rose scent. On the palate - chalky, fine, pretty, fresh, balanced and youthful - surprisingly so. Fine tannins, medium acidity, engaging flavours of fruit and oak, well integrated, but in harmony overall presenting wine with medium+ length.
What a great opportunity - thank you Amisfield
