Jenny Dobson Doris Merlot Malbec & Cabernet Franc 2018, Hawkes Bay

A bouquet bursting with aromas of Black Doris Plum (no pun intended), blueberry and boysenberry, purple flowers and dark spices. On the palate - youthful, tense, firm and dry. Flavours are equally intense and reflect the bouquet. Firm, ripe tannins and medium+ acidity add texture, structure, power and length. Overall a lovely wine with a gentle savoury line weaving through the fruit and dark spices. Well made with a medium+ finish. Drink best from mid to late 2020 through 2024.
