Dark berries and leather, black pepper and clove, toasty, woody, Rhone-like gravelly soil moments, abstract aromas like boot polish and smoke. Overall an engaging and alluring bouquet. On the palate - big, bold, warm, generous, dry and peppery. All the aromas suggested on the nose return as flavours, warming alcohol, dark spices and smoky meaty flavours. Firm tannins, but integrating well, plenty of acidity too. Aside a slightly firm and dry finish - this is a very nice wine and well made. best drinking from today and through 2021.
