Mills Reef Elspeth Chardonnay 2017, Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay
White and yellow fleshed stone fruits, grapefruit peel, tropical fruit moments and plenty of wood spices, toasty oak and gravel soil aromas. On the palate - full bodied and dry, warm, fruity and spicy with flavours that reflect the nose. Some wood tannins along with oak spices add texture and depth as well as complexity and power. A wine still on its journey to full harmony, well made, lengthy and commanding. Decant for service with best drinking from late 2020 through 2025.
