Paddy Borthwick 'Right Hand' Pinot Noir 2019, Wairarapa
Complex and enticing bouquet with aromas of ripe red berry fruit and savoury core, a mix of new and older barrel with brown baking spices and smoke then a silty mineral seam. On the palate - dry and complex on the palate with flavours that reflect the nose, a core of dark berries and plums, spicy toasty wood flavours, firm tannins and a touch of dried herb. Well made, youthful, tense and complex. A lovely wine enjoyable today, but best from late 2021 through 2029+.
