Paddy Borthwick Pinot Noir 2019, Wairarapa

Intense, varietal, fruity and alluring scents of Pinot Noir - dark cherry and plum, baking spice and smoky vanilla fragrances of French oak, some dried herb and stony mineral. On the palate - youthful with a firm texture and medium acidity contrasted by a core of fruit with flavours that reflect the nose. Chalky distinctive tannins and medium+ acidity, flavours of dark plums and cherry, vanilla and clove barrel and vibrant textured finish. Well made, best in y cellar till late 2022 then excellent drinking through 2030.
