Scout Pinot Noir 2019, Lowburn, Central Otago

Youthful with fresh red berry fruit aromas, no mistaking the dried herb wild thyme scent, layers of smoky wood with a baking spices theme. The core of the bouquet is fruit and pinosity. On the palate - tense, firm, plenty of acidity then flavours of red berries, cherry and tart strawberry. The thyme note from the bouquet returns to highlight the textures and add contrast to the fruit. Young, vibrant, fresh and well made. Needs quite some time to fully come together and tell it’s full story. Best drinking from 2022 through 2028+. In the meantime with food.
