Rockburn 'Seven Barrels' Pinot Noir 2023, Central Otago

From the Dick Bunton Vineyard in Gibbston, this seven barrels expression is ripe, variety, fruity, focused and delicious. Aromas and flavours of boysenberry and plum, fresh red cherry and moments of raspberry. A mix of mostly older barrel complexities then a layer of newer barrel adds weight and breadth across the palate. Flavours of roses and wild flowers along with a flinty quality precede the impact of fine polished tannins and acidity. A lovely example, very youthful with Gibbston fruit ripeness, and needing cellar time - like most RB wines. Best from 2029 through 2039.
