Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2022, Marlborough

A lovely bouquet, ripe and fresh, varietal and perfumed, scents of cherry and strawberry then dried herb and drying rose petals. There’s a distinctive mineral quality suggesting a clay & stone combination enhanced by baking spice and barrel-smoke layers. Delicious on the palate, dry with a frame of tannins and acidity then flavours of d=red berries and plum to reflect the bouquet. Lengthy, well made, a building complexity and lasting mouthfeel. Best from 2028 through 2035+.
