Black Cottage Syrah 2021, Hawke's Bay

A vibrant, bright and refreshing bouquet of black currant and violets, there's some peppery smoky spice and raspberry suggestions, moderate oak overall and some developing integration. Dry with a youthful grip easily contrasted by a ripe fruit core with berry fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. Tannins are firmish delivering a textured mouthfeel, acidity is plentiful and overall a well made still developing. Best drinking from mid to late 2025 through 2030+.
