Lime Rock Merlot Cabernet Franc 2020/2021, Central Hawke's Bay

A blend of vintages this wine presents a bouquet of spiced plums, olive blackberry and iron. The voice of place is clear with echoes of limestone and clay, then layers of barrel spices and some smoke. Some tautness and youth as the wine touches the palate - form tannins and medium+ acid line then as the wine reaches ambient temperature the fruit flavours warm to off contrast and balance. A lovely wine, best suited to food, am think cheese, with best drinking from 2024 through 2030.
