Lime Rock 'DV' Pinot Noir 'Kota' 2013/2014, Central Hawke's Bay

‘Kota’ means [oyster] shell in Te Reo- Maori, the DV on the label means Double Vintage - in this case 26% from the 2013 vintage and the rest from the 2014. This presents a bouquet of complexity and development, aromas of preserved red berries, compote of strawberry and leather. There’s a tautness and texture combination as the wine touches the palate, fruit flavours reflect the bouquet with some wood tones of cinnamon and cedar. A thoroughly interesting wine well suited to winter fare and cheeses. This wine is ready with best drinking from day of purchase through 2027.
