Carrick Billet-Doux Pinot Noir 2021, Bannockburn, Central Otago
A lovely bouquet of complexity and variety, aromas of texture and fruit, layers of savoury dried herb and a mix of wood and lees influences. Lots of youth and power as the wine touches the palate, textures from tannins and acidity engage the senses first, and as these subside the core of red fruit and oak flavours emerge. Dark plums and dried cherry, some black-currant then cove and vanilla smoky wood suggestions. A firm textured dry wine with a core of pinosity and power, just needs time to settle and develop, this wine will be great if given the time in your cellar. Best drinking from 2026 through 2034+.
