Stonecroft Undressed Merlot 2022, Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

Very attractive bouquet with ripw plums and red berry aromas, some black currant and cassis moments then very mild barrel spice layers and a stony dried herb quality. Youthful, taut, firm and dry on the palate, contrasting core fruit flavours reflect the bouquet with a light botanical note adding complexity and back palate textures. Firm tannins and medium+ acid line, well made, youthful and ready to drink from 2024 through 2030.
