Escarpment Te Rehua Pinot Noir 2019, Martinborough
Fresh, very bright, powerful and youthful with tension and poise in the bouquet. Complex, very detailed and individual, this is the 1er Cru if not GC of Martinborough. Complex, lengthy, curious and long. Red berries, raspberry and dark cherry, plenty of pebbles and silty soil flavours. A fine toasty oak layer with moments of clove and vanilla, a moment of bacon oak. Frim tannins and contrasting acidity, long finish and totally delicious. Best drinking from 2024 through 2030+.
