Butterworth Layline Pinot Noir 2018, Martinborough
Immediately varietal with aromas of strawberries and plum, some silty Martinborough soil earthy qualities and mild fine oak layer with soft light brown baking spice moments. Dry, youthful and tense on the palate with flavours of red berries and plum compote. Fine-ish to firm tannins with a light chalky texture, contrasting acidity and flavours of bottle-development. Overall well made, still developing yet ready to drink as well with food (pastas and casseroles). Ideal drinking from mid 2021 through 2024.
