Mount Michael The Mountaineer Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago
Complex, pure, varietal, youthful and fruity bouquet. Aromas of raspberries and dark cherries, dark red apple skin, a rugged Otago mineral stony and dried herb complexity. Moderate oak with dark spices and smoky wood. Tense, firm textures contrasted by a core of fruit on the palate. Firm yet ripe tannins with a youthful grip, plenty of acidity and toasty barrel spices of vanilla and some clove. dark berries and cherry fruit flavours. savoury, complex, dry and with a decent finish. Still needs time in cellar to fully develop the harmonies deserved of this wine. Best drinking from mid to late 2022 through 2030+
