Mount Michael Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Mount Michael.png

Ripe dark red cherry and baked raspberry aromas then toasty oak with aromas of five spice. Earthy with scents of stones and dusty clay. On the palate - flavours of ripe dark berries, plum and raspberry, toasty French oak with a smoky edge. Fruit flavours return and mirror the nose, a soft dried herb layers weaves through the fruit. Nice tension and poise from firm chalky tannins and acidity. Youthful yet drinking well now with a lengthy finish. Dry, balanced and well made. Best drinking window from early 2022 through 2028+.
