Mission Estate Jewelstone Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Aromas of sweet and tart red cherry, a hint of raspberry then red currant, baking spices of mild toasty barrel and a distinctive mineral schist-like quality. Moderately complex and quite enticing. Dry on the palate with fine savoury and core of fruit complexity. Flavours of baking spice and oak wood flavours are enhanced by fine wood tannins and medium+ acidity. Well made with a lengthy finish. Moderate weight, floral and fruity with excellent drinking from 2021 through 2026+.
