Paritua RED 2018, Hawkes Bay

A blend of 58% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Cabernet Franc. The bouquet is packed with aromas of dark berries bitter chocolate, plums and violets, smoky oak with clove and dark vanilla. Very youthful showing off complexity and intensity. On the palate - concentrated, fruity, oaky and intense. There’s no mistaking the tannins with their grainy mix of oak and fruit origins. There’s also plenty of acidity contrasting the ripe core of fruit reminding me of the plums and dark berries then chocolate toasty wood layers. A lovely wine, very young and lengthy. Decant for service with best drinking from 2022 through 2028+.
