An opaque dark purple appearance with a dark ruby rim. On the nose - powerful aromas suggest black plums and dark berries, some violets and abundant dark spices of clove, toast, tar and aged meat. On the palate - full bodied and rich in flavour with plum flesh and baked red berries, violet and a touch of dried lavender, stewed black tea and dark middle-eastern spices. Tannins are resolved and integrating well, acidity medium+. A lovely, rich and velvety wine with a firm texture that eases as the palate fills with tannins and fruit. Not yet in balance, but given patience and time this wine will reward those who wait. Best drinking from late 2021 through 2026+.
