Giesen Single Vineyard Selection Ridge Block Pinot Noir 2016, Marlborough

Giesen Ridge PN.jpg

There’s no mistaking the bouquet of this wine - with a vineyard specific message about Pinot Noir - aromas of silty stony soils then red berry fruits of cherry and cranberry along with some red apple moments. A light savoury dried herb note adding complexity and a little intrigue. Even though there’s four years bottle age already this wine is drinking very young - so no rush to open upon purchase. Fine to moderate tannins, mild to moderate flavours of oak with wood tannins adding texture and length. Complex and youthful - coming into balance. Lengthy. Best drinking from 2021/22 and through 2026.
