Amisfield Pinot Noir 2012, Central Otago
Library tasting
Darker core of colour with a deep ruby and purple hued appearance with a lighter purple ruby rim. Classic Central Otago aromas of dark cherry, undergrowth and savoury dried herb, moderate oak intensity with toasty wood layers and dark baking spice moments. Flavours on the palate mirror the nose with layers of berries and dark spices, medium tannin impact with oak flavours overarching the fruit. Tannins do have a fine to chalky. Mineral moments. Balanced and well made, youthful with moderate length. This is a lovely wine, but does not quite have the power, pinosity and impact of previous vintage. If you have some of this vintage in your cellar I would urge you to think about drinking the remaining bottles.
What a great opportunity - thank you Amisfield
