Neudorf Tom’s Block Pinot Noir 2017, Nelson
Earthy then fruity, brown spices then toasty French oak aromas, plum then rose, quite complex, attractive and ready. On the palate - delicious! No mistaking the varietal signature with flavours of dark red berries and plum then clove and other baking spice flavours. A natural earth flavour with gravel and stone then clay and dried herb. As the wine begins to relax and open up in glass the harmony also arrives with an even fine texture from the tannins and acid line. Tannins are mostly chalky with a fine mealy layer adding length and depth. Another fine example from the Neudorf team and fine vintage reflection. Drink well now and through 2024.
