Matawhero Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2019, Gisborne

Classic and distinctive bouquet of Chardonnay with aromas of white and yellow peach, grapefruit then wood spices - quite soft adding complexity and subtlety. On the palate - dry, near full-bodied, fine creamy texture with a satin edge, warm and fresh, fine tannins, wood spice and nut. There’s a California peach moment then a swing back to peach and apple. Plenty of length, familiar, balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2024.
