Burn Cottage Riesling Gruner Veltliner 2018, Central Otago

A distinctive bouquet of Gruner with a pineapple and soft white herb layer then white blossoms, apple and lemon scents of Riesling. On the palate - a wine with a specific texture of silk and high acidity then contrasting tension from lees and perhaps some skin contact, a core of fruit and obvious complexity. The wild blossoms and floral layers add depth and charm while the core of the wine remains the varieties of Riesling and Gruner that together create a new and distinctive taste. Balanced and well made, plenty of length, texture and finesse. Drink now and through 2025+.
