Stewart Town The Bounder Pinot Noir 2014, Bannockburn, Central Otago
Varietal, earthy, dried flowers and a mix of fresh and dried berry aromas, toasty with baking spices and smoky French wood tones. On the palate - tense, firm, dry and ready. Flavours of dried herb show first then red berries of cherry then plum. Tannins are fine and integrating well - they have a chalky firmness and slightly dying effect. This is contrasted nicely by the fruit and acid line. An earthy, dried herb note adds flavour and intensity. Overall balanced and well made with a nice moderate finish. Drinking well now and through 2022.
