Plums and dark cherry, dark roses and dried herbs, a distinctive VA lift and a mix of white and black pepper spice. The oak is layered through the bouquet with bottle age softening the energy with which is must have shown when first bottled. A very specific wine on the palate with textures of fine chalk and dusty wood. Flavours of clove and wood smoke then dark berries and cherry, a touch of milk chocolate and old rose. Medium acidity and moderate finish this wine is ready to enjoy - perhaps with food - but will also continue to cellar if allowed to. Best drinking today and through 2025. 90 Points

Youthful bouquet of red wine with a fresh and lifted package of aromas - red cherries and plum, some spices of Syrah and moments of black-currant. Vanilla and clove spices of wood lead to other aromas of stones and clay soil suggestions. Dry on the palate, quite tense with a youthful grip from tannins and acidity. Fruit flavours re-emerge with cherry and red currants, some plum and darker fruit suggestions. A youthful yet balanced wine with moderate complexity and finish.
