Black Estate

Black Estate Cabernet Franc 2018 North Canterbury

A distinctive and engaging bouquet of France with aromas of dried herbs and olive, dark red berries and a steely gun-metal note. A few layers of violets and oak then back to red berry-fruit suggestions. Tart, tense, firm and dry on the palate with flavours that reflect the nose, tart red berries, firm youthful tannins and plenty of acidity. A medium weighted wine that begins to show more floral notes as it opens up in glass. This wine needs some time in bottle to calm and integrate before it can show its true story. Best left till end of 2020 then taste again. For now - decant for service and serve with food.
