Hunter’s Offshoot Chardonnay 2017 Marlborough

Flinty, mineral, salty, fresh and attention seeking bouquet of Chardonnay. Aromas and flavours of gun metal and citrus, white peach and red apple. The oak is mild, subtle and layered into the bouquet with a whisper of vanilla and white baking spice. Dry on the palate with medium+ weight and acidity, a steely gun flint and mineral core contrasted by citrus and white fleshed fruit flavours. The oak remains subtle offering structure over flavour. A lengthy and detailed finish. Different, balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2022.
