Saint Clair Merlot 2017 Gimblett Gravels Hawkes Bay

Very attractive bouquet with dark plums and clove, baked black cherry and dry stone earthy qualities, dark rose and violet layer. Dry on the palate with firmer youthful tannins, medium+ acidity then flavours of dark berry, black cherry and Doris plum. Flavours of wood spices and and some palate tension keep this wine youthful to the taste. Best with food till the wine matures more with best drinking from 2020 through 2024.
