Mérite Ultra Merlot Single Vineyard 2015, Wrattonbully, Australia

An intense, varietal, fruity and oaky bouquet with aromas of toasty oak, dark berries, dark plums and black brown baking spices. On the palate - youthful, firm, weighty, rich in flavour, varietal, oaky and packed with intensity. Flavours of dark spices- clove and cinnamon, some marmite, tobacco and toasty wood moments, dark berries and loads of black plum flavours. Firm tannins and medium acidity plus just warming alcohol contrast the fruit core and add length. A lovely wine, still developing, decant for service. Ideal drinking from late 2021 through 2026+.
