Ruru Riesling 2019, Central Otago

Fragrant, varietal, fruity and floral aromas of Riesling. On the palate - crsp, refreshing, salivating acidity and dry on the finish. Flavours of fresh green apple and kaffir-lime, green mandarin and lemon-barley water. The floral notes from the nose begin to emerge after a minute or two. A youthful wine needing some cellar time - or - shuck some fresh oysters, douse in fresh lemon juice and the perfect match awaits. Ideal drinking from late 2020 through 2024.

Ruru Rosé 2019, Central Otago

Very fragrant and gently fruity bouquet. Aromas and flavours suggest white rose and peach, cranberry and red cherry, red apple and a whisper of turkish delight. Fresh, light, lively and just dry on the palate. Youthful and crunchy texture from the acid line, a core of red fruit flavours and an easy mineral-like finish. Best drinking from today and through 2020.

Ruru Pinot Gris 2018, Central Otago

Immediately varietal and inviting bouquet. Aromas and flavours of green pear and apple, lemon and honeysuckle. On the palate - a dry wine with a tension and bite adding texture and length. Flavours of citrus and tree fruits still pop through on the finish. Medium acidity, youthful and fresh. A wine that needs food - I suggest a fresh salad with lemon juice instead of oil and vinegar, fried oysters or corn fritters with cottage cheese and parsley. Drink now and through 2021.
