Tantalus Pinot Gris 2016 Waiheke Island Auckland

Distinctive bouquet, ripe and quite alluring with a mix of tree and citrus fruit aromas - apples, pears, quince and a whisper of lemon peel. The rest of the bouquet centers on lees and spice notes. On the palate there' s a bite of phenolic texture accentuated by medium acidity then a little citrus peel kicks in again. Just off-dry with a light sweet note then the lees work kicks in again adding more texture and flavour spikes. Balanced and well made. dirnk now and through 2022.
