Schubert Syrah 2014 Wairarapa

An elegant and fragrant bouquet of Syrah with aromas of cherry and raspberry, some plum then white pepper and nutty wood scents. On the palate – youthful, firm, dry and elegant; fine to moderate tannins accentuating the oak and pepper spices, plum and cherry flavours return, well apportioned oak and lengthy finish; an earthy mushroom-like layer adds further depth and complexity. Overall a very nice wine with engaging textures and flavours with decent length and finish. Drink now if decanted or from 2019 through 2026.
