Kalex Alex K Pinot Noir ‘Big Backyard’ 2016 Central Otago

Some classic Otago Pinot aromas with sweet wild thyme and dark cherry, undergrowth and a mix of new and older oak use – very engaging and almost sweet scented. On the palate – fruity, dry, plenty of texture, fine to moderate tannins and medium+ acidity; flavours of dried herb, undergrowth and ripe red fruits; lengthy finish with a light wild berry fruits and floral/rose note. Drink now and through 2025.

Kalex Alex K Pinot Noir ‘Big Backyard’ 201 Waipara

Aromas of silty soils laden with ripe red berry fruits – strawberry and cherry leading then scents of gentle brown oak spices and toasty wood tones. On the palate – lovely texture from the fine tannins and medium+ acidity; flavours of red cherry and strawberry, some warmth from the alcohol adding generosity and length. Dink n and through 2022.
