The Wines
2019 LBV - Dark ruby core with an almost opaque appearance, stained tears. Aromatic with a bouquet of boysenberry and purple plums, chocolate and spice, earth smoke and a very subtle oak idea. Off dry as the wine touches the palate then a surge of alcohol accentuating the silky-creamy mouthfeel. Delicious, just dry on the finish with a lengthy persistent fruity finish. 93 Points.

6 Grapes - Just shy of opaque with a very dark red and ruby core, very dark stained tears. There's a floral quality just before the rush of dark red berry and a touch of bitter chocolate, some soft barrel spice notes and a fruity spice quality. Definitively off-dry with a rush of sugar tempered by the alcohol and some acidity. Full-bodied and rounded in texture. Classic, full and balanced. Persistent flavours with a sweet finish, quite delicious. 92 Points.

Vintage 2000 - Ruby core and only just beginning to show a touch of ageing with a hint or oranging at the rim. Distinctive bouquet and palate with flavours of orange blossom and chocolate (jaffa/orange liqueur). Silk and cream textures with some fine tannins adding mouthfeel. Delicious, fine and youthful. Great balance and length. 95 Points

10 year -  Tawny hues with a soft orange rim, aromas and flavours of orange peel and iodine, dried plums and raisin, some fig and lots of spice. Dry, satin touch, nice acid line and lots of length. Classic, well made and lengthy. 93 Points
20 year Tawny - Tawny, Ruby, pale, true tawny, some orange hues. Aromas and flavours of old plums, dates and figs, there's a fine bitter chocolate note, baking spices and cinnamon. Warm and generous, coats the palate with flavour that sticks. Delicious, fresh and ready. 94 Points
40 year Tawny - Tawny hues, clearing to a see-through appearance. Complex and very alluring bouquet with scents of five spice and dried red fruits, cake and a hint of marzipan. Absolutely delicious, silky textures with a fine tannins seam, decent acid line. Long, persistent and powerful. 96 Points.
