Maori Point Chardonnay 2024, Central Otago

Fabulous bouquet filled with a core of minerality and ripe citrus, clay and limestone, a fine lees frame and [well chosen] layers of oak adding complexity and style. There’s a floral quality too that emerges as the wine opens out in glass. Dry, great weight and tension on the palate, flavours of red apple skin and white peach then citrus and fine lees. The oak once again adds weight, style and complexity. Acidity is precise and ripe. An excellent example with best drinking from late 2025 through 2032.
